The Relationship Between Knowledge, Heart, And Senses In The Perspective Of Imam Al-Ghazali

This research discusses the relationship between science, the heart and the five senses as stated in the classic book “Ihya’ Ulumudin” by Imam Al-Ghazali. Knowledge, heart and the five senses are often thought to be interrelated, but Imam Al-Ghazali distinguishes the three by providing an in-depth explanation of the relationship between these three things and their impact on the spiritual and social life of a Muslim. The research method applied in this study is literature research, with a data analysis approach in the form of content analysis. Data was obtained through documentation, with the main source in the form of the book “Ihya’ Ulumuddin”, as well as related books and scientific works as secondary sources. The findings of this study confirm that the five senses, heart, and science work synergistically to help humans acquire knowledge that is not only empirical, but also inner and spiritual.
